Elson
Sings Stupid Love Songs
Tribal Cafe
1651 W. Temple St.. Los Angeles (Historic Filipinotown)
Free- All Ages Elson
Sings Stupid Love Songs is a mostly-acoustic performance of original
and popular love songs -- both requited and unrequited.
From his own compositions like "Hearts" and "Love Fall Down" - and many
others previously unperformed - to classics from Stevie Wonder,
Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross to unique interpretations to modern tunes
from James Blunt, Corinne Bailey Rae and Ne-Yo, and even unique
soulful versions of '80s tunes from Duran Duran and the Psychedelic Furs,
this performance goes beyond mere "covers," but rather re-appropriating
the songs into his own style and sentiment. At last, an event this week
that both couples and the lonely-hearted people can equally enjoy...
Special guest will be Soul Barkada guitarist Vincent Reyes, who will
be performing his own songs as well. |
